The second of five galleries to be designed and opened as part of Nauticus’ “Reimagine Nauticus” project, Aquaticus is a themed under-the-sea and sailing adventure space devoted to guests aged 5-years-old and younger.

This immersive space offers a comfortable environment for caregivers with multiple seating options while introducing young visitors to STEM concepts designed to empower guests to build their own skills, and caregivers to facilitate their learning.

Suspended from the ceiling, the Schooner Virginia boat is a striking feature in the space. Visitors climb a series of platforms in a tower to reach a rope tunnel bridge that leads them inside the boat. Once inside, visitors can captain the ship at the Wonder Wheel or communicate with the Sea Lab below using the Talk Tube.

Visitors also learn about ocean pollution and cleanup with the unique Bay Clean-Up interactive media floor projection activity. This 12’x20’ floor projection uses overhead motion detection sensors to capture body movement and “push” trash into the Seabin.
