Home to one of the largest and most complete dinosaur museums in the US, Thanksgiving Point is a unique private non-profit family-oriented mixed-use development in Lehi, Utah, just outside of Salt Lake City. Roto was hired in 2006 to provide initial planning and concept design for a new 35,000 square foot children’s museum whimsically titled “The Museum of Natural Curiosity.”
The museum, now starting construction of a beautiful FFKR design, is oriented around the broad theme of curiosity. The 3 unusually-large permanent galleries include a fictional town full of self-discovery and expression (arts focus), a unique, over-the-top water and environment space featuring amazing new innovations on the typical water-based interactives (science focus), and a rich, mysterious Rainforest Adventure full of large-muscle and group problem-solving activity (health focus).
