Since early 2020, Roto has been working alongside architects tvsdesign on the creation of the new Mote Science Education Aquarium (Mote SEA). As the premiere exhibit design partner, the Roto team was chosen to design the aquatic exhibits and interpretation that showcase the real-world research by Mote Scientists.
Our team is working on fitting over 60 different exhibits, tanks and habitats into the facility, including a 300,000 gallon Gulf of Mexico tank with several large viewing opportunities for an immersive experience. As the largest exhibit, this new tank will have several large viewing opportunities, including an acrylic window that begins at the floor and curves up over the visitors head to create a unique sense of being underwater with large sharks and other fish swimming above. The project began construction in October 2020.
