John Glenn Space Gallery

Cincinnati Museum Center

CMC contracted with Roto to design and build a new Space Gallery, our third time partnering with the museum on a design/build project in their newly refurbished facility. The gallery is divided into three areas that each examine a different aspect of the compelling relationship between humanity and space.

In Imagine, the human desire to look up in the sky and wonder what lies beyond our home planet takes center stage, allowing visitors to create new constellations and contemplate their place in the universe while immersed in a 15’ diameter projection of amazing space phenomena. The Explore area examines how people with diverse backgrounds and skills must work together to understand space—whether they are exploring from here on earth, sending crewed missions to space or using robots to travel where humans can’t yet go.

Finally, Protect is focused on earth itself and how humanity must come together to ensure its continued survival. In this area, visitors can engage with a dynamic, multi-station video array that displays captivating imagery of what makes our planet special while encouraging them to dig into fascinating data about our changing planet captured from space.
